Absolutely

Buffalo responds amazingly to lawn renovations, coring and the correct treatments.
Buffalo doesn’t like overly dry conditions or compacted soil. It also struggles heavily when its left with super thick layers of Stolons and Thatch.
We of course can assist with most problems you may be having, provide you direction on what to do next and save you wasting time

How often should I aerate my lawn?

For most people that are lovers of all things lawn it is good practice to lawn aerate around spring and again just prior to end of summer.

The are however only positives to support this even more regularly if you chose to do so.

A lot of fully manicured lawn areas are hollow cored multiple times and solid tined between visits, these same customers may also undertake lawn grooming procedures as well.

What sized property could you guys mow in a day?

Depending on the growth level and terrain anywhere up to 60a if all in the one site and at maintenance levels.

What ist the best way to remove weeds?
  1. Fiskars Hand Weeders work exceptionally well on clumped weeds or those with a taproot like crows foot and Paspalum etc

  2. Yates Weed Wands work well to selectively scrub out the leaves of problem grassy weeds esp in blue couch etc where registered herbicide use is either not available or not permitted
  3. The humble hand tool weeder, people forget about these but I tell you what I have a client that completely cleansed over 1000m with on of these, its all time and perseverance
What are the best times to perform a lawn renovation?

In QLD you get a bit more of a run at things due to temps etc but the general rule is when the low and high temp combined reaches 36deg

We generally start late August- Start of September and run through into January.

We will generally not do a full renovation from February on wards as the lawns are suffering from the heat and the change in season is only weeks away by then. Depending how quick the season drops off this can inhibit recovery
We can still however provide renovation services we just wont go the full way this late in the season.

Whats that big aerator you have?

The big red aerator is a TORO STAND ON AERATOR from their commercial line.|

This machine is far and beyond superior to the smaller units. Better coverage, density and penetration along with speed of coverage.
With depths of up to 140mm in ideal conditions its double the maximum of the smaller machines especially the cheap black units or the beaten heavy back breaking blue hire units. Combine this with the fact it can hydraulicly exert over 1000lbs of down force on those tines, you are in an entirely different category.

This unit is especially good for lawn coring in Elimbah and other areas with larger open blocks such as Burpengary, Lawnton, Upper Caboolture, Joyner etc

How do your lawn improvement plans work?

You reach out to us via a get an estimate form about, attaching some photos to show their current condition.

We will then make initial suggestions, provide some options and discuss your goals etc with your lawn.

A Lawn Technician will attend your site for the initial visit which will likely be to either give the lawn a boost through aeration and product applications or it will be to begin the weed control process depending on their current state.

From there you will roll into a standard Monthly Schedule with some optional upgrades available to you.

Soon you will be one of the lawn fanatics and admiring your patch of green goodness.

Hedge and Stump FAQ

How often should I cut my Hedge

Regularly lightly trimming your hedges at 6-8w intervals depending on the species will help promote dense tight growth.

Most larger hedges we do at 12week intervals

Hedge reductions and heavy cut backs are an entirely different thing however

My hedge isnt filling in what should I do.
  1.  Be patient some times all you need is time to pass
  2. Trim it regularly just tipping the growth
  3. Feed it with a good landscape fertiliser and or a good foliage application
  4. Water is the source of life its no different in the plant world
What are your favorite hedges
  1. Murraya, largely due to its ability to recover quickly and its soft growth that compacts down quite well.
  2.  Cypress, I just love trimming these due to the fine growth. Although a lot of care must be taken with these as they don’t respond well to severe cut backs. The are also cursed with Canker quite often…
  3. Lilly Pillies, tough and fast growing. Can screen massive areas and if regularly worked on can still look great
Should I leave those stumps there
  1. Termite safe haven
  2. Trip hazzards
  3. Stops use of full space in garden beds
Grind them or get an excavator?

Grinding is far less invasive to your property, doesn’t cause anywhere even near the turf damage. Are lighter meaning less compaction also…

Why do some people not want to chip palm fronds?

Palms present problems for some chippers and wrap around the shaft/drum thats were the reluctance comes from.

Most disc chippers will take them but some of the bigger varieties can still be a pain like Ghosts/Bismarks etc

Palms like Golden canes pose no problem, we can chip the fronds, the trunks and grind the stumps.

My Murraya hedge has dead branches, is dying Help?

Pretty fair chance it has borers in the branches.

These are no dramas to treat but the dead branches are dead and will need pruning out

Do you have a Tight access chipper?

Yes we do, the smaller one will scoot through gaps of approx 900mm allowing chipping of waste at the rear of properties

My hedges are really tall will you be able to do them?

We generally dont have any troubles reaching high hedges providing the area around it allows safe set up to reach them.

We have all the high reach pole saws, palm cleaning saws, large platform ladders, high reach pole hedgers.

I need overhanging branches cut down can you help?

No problems with this we can usually get up to approx 6m with out a ladder. It all depends on the surrounds and the size of the branches

Will your stump grinders and chippers ruin my lawn?

No, provided the ground isn’t already soggy etc.

Being heavily lawn focused business we made sure when we selected chippers and Stump grinders that they would provide a low impact and minimal damage.

Can we keep the mulch for our gardens?

Absolutely! Unlike a lot of tree companies that take your mulch and then sell it for more profit, we will always give you the option to retain your mulch for your own use around your gardens

We have strong relationships with MANY other contractors all around the area, in the event a very large job came up our ability to collaborate with these other business owners extends our capabilities far far beyond the normal.

Can you help me to fix my lawn?

Absolutely!
Our Lawn Technician can handle all of your common lawn related issues and some not so common ones.
We can even provide Monthly Lawn improvement plans and unlike others FULL renovation services including lawn coring.

Can you provide long term lawn mowing for my home?

Yes, we can in fact all of our residential lawn mowing is long term in nature. We prefer knowing our clients are long term and reliable just the same as you prefer your chosen contractor to be the same.

Why do you use a webform for contact?

Our web form simplifies the contact process.
During the day when we are mowing lawns, trimming hedges and lawn coring its often difficult if not impossible to hear the phone. And in most cases the fact we have machines running makes it dangerous!
This way we can review your details and call you when you have our full attention.

We also receive multiple lines of enquiry daily from our business suite account on Meta (Facebook), commercial channels and of course organically via phone

Why do we often refer work to other local contractors?

Unlike a lot businesses, WE DO NOT SELL OR SUBLET OUR CLIENTS EVER.
This is an extremely common practice in lawn mowing businesses. We don’t do it!
If we can’t service your lead and we think we can refer you to a solution then we will, we wont attempt to make a margin on that transaction, we will simply just refer you and you can pursue if you wish to.

Why do you invest so heavily in equipment?

We invest heavily in our lawn mowing, lawn renovation and stump grinding equipment to give us the ability to provide you better results and to become more efficient which in turn makes us more commercially viable.
Our stand on lawn corer or big zero turn mower are 2 very good examples, as are our stump grinders and chippers

Why do you offer so many services?

Because we believe if your going to do a job you may as well do it properly.
If we remove golden cane palms and but offer no stump grinding are we really doing the job properly?
Same if we offer lawn care and promise you a green lawn with an amazing treatment lawn improvement plan. If we cant reduce compaction by lawn coring or remove thatch from zoysia with out dethatcher are we really doing that job properly either?
